Is Daenerys Targaryen really the most beautiful woman, or is everyone saying that just to flatter her?

This was a twist that it was impossible for David and Dan to do in Game of Thrones given how they had decided to plot the show! They told Emilia Clarke in an interview you can watch that before Season 2 of the Show, they decided on her dark fate going mad just like “her father” the Mad King. You can clearly see this because one of the first thing she does in Season 2 is give a speech about burning up cities with her dragons that does not exist anywhere in the books. Then she makes many threats throughout Season 2, also not in the books, that first gave rise to the Mad Queen theory for Dany’s ending. Theorists were picking up on David and Dan’s clues about her future that they inserted into the show.
Ashara was rumored to have become pregnant shortly before Robert’s Rebellion—and to have given birth to a daughter.
So we got David and Dan’s ending for her that was nothing like George R.R. Martin’s, because even they cite no reason for her decline at the end of the show in their interviews by HBO other than that she’s suppodely the Mad King’s daughter. Compare this to Tyrion Lannister, who has vowed vengeance on the citizens of King’s Landing in the books for betraying him at his trial, and Cersei Lannister, who has actually descended into paranoia in the books and used wild fire to burn down the Tower of the Hand. Moreover, we also have book visons by Aeron Greyjoy of his brother Euron sitting the Iron Throne—suggesting he will violently conquer the city. So we have many book characters with established motives for destroying King’s Landing in an attack, compared to Dany who has spent her entire life longing to regain the city of her forefathers and rule it happily.

When the Civil War ended with the murder of Elia’s babies, Ned realized he had to send the distinctly Targaryen-looking baby with unmistakable violet eyes overseas to be safe with her uncle Viserys and William Darry. Robert would never let the girl live.
‘My queen,’ [Jorah Mormont] said, ‘and the bravest, sweetest, and most beautiful woman I have ever seen.’
Rhaegar believed he needed to have a third child to be the third head of the dragon in the War for the Dawn.

In fact, based in part on Barristan’s belief that Dany looks like Ashara Dayne’s daughter, I am one who has proposed the theory elsewhere that Dany is fact the daughter of Ashara and Rhaegar. We know for a fact that:
Dany’s Hidden Twist as Ashara’s Daugher!
And why shouldn’t she be? The Targaryens are famous for being beautiful. We all know Jaime Lannister is incredibly handsome and Cersei thinks that he appeared ordinary next to Rhaegar, Dany’s uncle.
Would you respect the US with a woman as president?
Ashara was handmaiden to Elia, and her brother Arthur Dayne was Rhaegar’s best friend.
‘Oh most beautiful of women, you have only to speak it and it is yours,’ Xaro called down.
Hence, Dany is really Jon Snow’s half sister, Rhaegar’s daughter, and Ashara Dayne’s child. She was named Daenerys by her mother, Ned, or Wyman Manderly at birth in honor of her being Ashara Dayne’s daughter.
We know from Catelyn Stark that the Lady Ashara Dayne was “tall and fair, with haunting violet eyes.” And we knoe that many men were smitten with her beauty, purportedly including Barristan and Ned Stark.
The most beautiful woman in the world, thought Quentyn…. Sometimes at night he lay awake imagining her face and form….
There are specific characters who call Dany the most beautiful woman in the world to her face:
Ashara and Ned are rumored to have begun a romance at the Tournament at Harrenhal, right before Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark met one another.
The doctors told his wife Elia she could not survive a third Targaryen pregnancy.
Ashara Dayne, by Bella Bergolts
The Martells have agents and spies who have described her this way. Euron Greyjoy is believed to have seen her face in visions and described her in this way to his brother. It’s therefore safe to say that she is so gorgeous that she is widely described by those who have seen her as the most beautiful woman in the world.
Xaro Xhoan Doxas and Jorah have ulterior motives for calling her that, but we also hear other characters who have never even met her who believe her to be the most beautiful woman in the world based on third-party descriptions of her:
The most beautiful woman in the world is very subjective, but Dany is certainly supposed to be one of them!
Dany was thereafter passed off by Viserys as his younger sister, born of Queen Rhaella, rather than his aunt, because otherwise Dany’s sons would have the direct claim to the Iron Throne as Rhaegar’s heir in precedence to him. It all makes sense from Viserys perspective, and there was no one left alive to tell Dany otherwise as she grew up.
Ned was rumored to have brought a pregnant woman north as the first thing he did at the start of Robert’s Rebellion.
Dany mostly appears in her own viewpoint chapters, so we actually don’t get too many third-party descriptions of her, but when we finally do, Barristan Selmy, thinks to himself, that when he closes his eyes Dany looks like the spitting image of Ashara Dayne, only with platinum-blonde hair rather than raven black.

But George Martin says in an interview that you can also watch that he strictly kept his endings secret from David and Dan until after Season 3 when he realized the show would pass the books. Then he called them to Santa Fe, New Mexico and spent three days explaining his intended plotlines and endings for all the characters. Only this was already two years after David and Dan say they decided on Dany’s show ending. So they had already decided her fate was to become the Mad Queen like her father the Mad King years before George revealed to then she isn’t actually the Mad King’s daughter, but instead Jon’s sister, Ashara and Rhaegar’s child.
The Dayne’s named their youngest boy Ned Dayne after Ned Stark.
I say the shortest line between all these facts is that Ashara Dayne initially agreed to a surrogate mother for Rhaegar and Elia, at the request of her brother, Rhaegar’s best friend and personal body guard, but called off the arrangement because she met Ned. This led Rhaegar and Elia to ask Lyanna Stark to be their surrogate mother instead, after Rhaegar met her and was taken with her intelligence and ability to warg her horse magically, as well as her beauty. He also spoke to Elia in Dany’s vision about the Song of Ice and Fire, so he may have decided that Stark Ice magic would complement his own Targaryen fire magic in a magical offspring.
This is also why Ned harshly forbade any speculation at Winterfell that Jon Snow was Ashara Dayne’s daughter. Were it not for a Rhaegar-Ashara relationship, that would be the perfect cover story for Jon. But Ned knows the truth: that Rhaegar got Ashara pregnant. And he has no idea who might have survived who knew this. Therefore, any speculation at all that Jon was Ashara’s child could easily have gotten him killed … because Ashara did in fact bear Prince Rhaegar Targaryen’s child.
But as Robert’s Rebellion was starting, Ashara realized she was already pregnant with Rhaegar’s child, but only after Rhaegar and her brother Arthur had gone off with Lyanna. As the realm was descending into war and chaos, she went to Ned for help. So he brought her north on his secret journey from Riverrun through the Vale of Arryn to White Harbor. That’s where Dany at the Wolf’s Den, the secret ancient Stark tower now controlled by the Manderly’s. This is the spot where Manderly hides Davos after Davos has retraced Ned and Ashara’s exact route from the Vale of Arryn through ‘Sisterton’ to WhiteHarbor, allowing Ashara to give birth to Jon Snow’s sister.
Ned flips out when Robert wants Daenerys killed and quits being Hand for that reason—after not quitting even over Cersei sending out men to kill his own daughter Arya who did kill the innocent boy Mycah with Robert’s approval.

Even after all these years, Ser Barristan could still recall Ashara’s smile…. He had only to close his eyes to see her, with her long dark hair tumbling down her shoulders and those haunting violet eyes. Sometimes when the Queen looked at him, he felt as if he were looking at Ashara’s daughter ….
The most beautiful woman in the world has need of my axe [thought Victarion].
